Growing up in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Derek Presnail spent most of his time under the wheels of a skateboard and under the influence of music. With an eye for art and a school notebook full of drawings about airplane crashes, Derek started to build the foundation of a graphic designer.

Upon high school graduation, Derek Presnail drifted around in Chicago, IL attending culinary school. Finding no passion for the culinary industry he returned home to take art and general education classes. Soon after he was off to UW-Stout for an education in design.

Derek Presnail, with a love of graphics already etched in his brain spent endless hours and late nights learning graphic design. After a few years, and a trip to New York to study at The School of Visual Arts, his graphics began to come together. In the next few years he would design posters and book music shows for the UW-Stout campus. He also spent a summer as an intern at Morsekode and Burlesque of North America.

After college Derek moved back to Minneapolis and works as a graphic designer and also runs Attention Deficit Design.

Derek Presnail also feels a little weird writing about himself in the third person.
